If you are fascinated by foraging, but fungi give you the fear, this walk is for you!
Leah will lead you through the FUN-damentals of fungi on a 3 hour walk through the beautiful woodland just 12 miles South of Bristol and 10 miles from Bath. You will be introduced to some beginner friendly families of fungi, as well as some of the most deadly, so you know which ones to look out for!
If you don’t know your Agarics from your Amanitas, Leah will guide you through the anatomy, habitat and key identification features to help you confidently distinguish between different families.
Delving into mushroom foraging can feel daunting as a beginner, but this walk aims to empower and equip you with enough knowledge to confidently continue your fungi foraging journey.
In previous years, this woods has had a wonderful array of edible, medicinal and poisonous mushrooms, so given the right conditions this season we can expect to find a good range of mushrooms to add to your repertoire. Exact location given on booking.
The morning walk will begin at 10am and finish at 1pm. The afternoon walk will begin at 2pm and finish at 5pm.
If for some reason you can no longer attend this workshop, you may pass your place onto a friend without notifying me, but they must give your original booking details. A minimum of 14 days notice before the date of the workshop is required to reschedule. If there are no suitable alternative dates you can either have a voucher to redeem anytime within 1 year, or a refund minus the booking fee of £5.
